Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness, a fantasy-themed real-time strategy (RTS), was published by Blizzard Entertainment in 1995. It was released for DOS in 1995. The kingdom of Azeroth was conquered in the first war. Now, the orcs plan to invade Lordaeron and take control of the remaining human, dwarf, and elvish realms. Elves and dwarves allied to stop the invasion of the humans.

New features include fighting over land and sea, SVGA 640×480 resolution graphics, multiplayer support with up to eight people, as well as a Red Book soundtrack, and a scenario editor that lets players create and edit their own scenarios. Even though Warcraft II uses DOS, the editor requires Windows 3.1 and higher.
