Valiant’s new map is a game-changer
Valiant’s new map is it’s most unique so far. Officially announced Wednesday was Fracture. It reverses attackers or defenders and forces both sides to play differently.
Fracture is shaped like a large letter “H”, and there are two bombsites with the connecting “H” section in-between. Although you might think that the attacker’s spawn is in the middle, it’s actually reversed. Fracture is a game where defenders begin in the middle and leave the spawn area to defend any side. The attackers can also pinch in towards the defenders on either side. There are ziplines below the map that allow for easier transitions from one area to the next.
This is a significant change from the Valorant map’s regular format. Usually, attackers push into defenders and place them in passive play positions. The spawns on this map mean that the defenders are often able to make their first move.
Fracture contains more lore than any Valora. ntmap. Two mirror realities are featured on the map, which is basically the larger story’s setup and the explanation of why Agents might be competing in a match. Although we don’t have much information about the world outside of its mirrored concept, there are interoperable clues scattered around Fracture which should shed some light on Valorant‘s two realities.
The fracture will be coming to Valiant as part of patch 3.05. Players should expect it to arrive next week as part of the game’s Act update. ValorantEpisode 2 Act 2 is expected to drop in September.
