Lego Star Wars Battles shuttered in July, now returning as an Apple Arcade exclusive

Lego Star Wars battles is a mobile strategy game that was closed down in July. It will be re-released by Apple Arcade. The game was soft-launched in a few countries in 2019, and its servers were shuttered in 2021.

On Monday, developer TT Games Brighton announced that the relaunch was taking place. The studio didn’t give a release date but said that it would be “coming soon”. Lego Star Wars Battles‘ servers had been unceremoniously shut down earlier in the year. Players were notified via an in-game message.

“We are sorry to announce that LEGO Star Wars Battles is closing,” TT Games Brighton announced in May. Players were instructed by the studio to use any in-game currency remaining before the game was taken offline on July 1. Media and Lego Star Wars Battles players took the shutdown to mean the game was cancelled.

Polygon reached out to Warner Bros. Games for further information.

Lego Star Wars Battles are soon to be available exclusively on Apple Arcade. A subscription will be required. Apple’s service allows you to play more than 150 games for $4.99 per month. You can only play the games as long as you have a subscription. Sometimes, Apple Arcade exclusives will later receive a console or Windows PC release after some time.
