Mortal Kombat 12 Development Could Be Starting Soon

The last instalment of the newsletter was two years ago. Mortal KombatFans of the series were excited to see the new movie and are eager to discover who the heroes of Earthrealm will be facing next. They might soon find their answers. Recent job postings indicate that development is on the horizon. Mortal KombatIt could start soon.

NetherRealm Studios is actively seeking two additional members to the series’ development team. WarnerMedia has a job posting for a producer who has experience working with AAA consoles. Another posting on Linkedin is for a senior animator/artist. It lists “experience in creating martial arts fighting games” among the desirable traits. Although it is clear that the studio is looking for new talent, neither post reveals the project. DLC for the previous instalment is complete, and an industry insider claims that NetherRealm will make Mortal Kombat 12 before Injustice. All indications point to the next Mortal Kombat in its early stages. Fans will likely have to wait a while until they can dish out new Fatalities. It’s not yet clear if the next Mortal Kombat game or movie will be released first. Although a sequel has not been announced, the movie did have a decent box office run. With the popularity of the series and the fact that the director said a sequel was possible, one will likely be released before the next movie.

There is no indication that Mortal Kombat12 will be revealed anytime soon. It’s impossible to know what the developer intends to do. If the recent leak of Mortal Kombat 11, DLC characters, is true, then there are many new fighters that NetherRealm studios could include in the next instalment. Ash Williams, a character long-requested by fans from the Evil Dead series, is one of those fighters.

Fans can only speculate about the game’s roster for now. The studio loves to bring characters from other franchises into Mortal Kombatuniverse like Robocop or Rambo. Warner Bros. recently mentioned that Scooby-Doo’s Shaggy could join Mortal Kombat 12. However, this may seem a bit far-fetched. The studio will announce that NetherRealm has been completed and perhaps hint at the fighters available.
