Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest and Other Guilds Reverted to Post-Nerf Values To Help Clear Tier 5 in The Burning Crusade Classic
Blizzard plans to nerf Serpentshrine Cavern, Tempest Keep in order to assist struggling guilds with tier 4 content in Burning Crusade Classic when it reaches its Tier 6 raids.
These plans include nerfing Lady Vashj and Morogrim Tidewalker in Serpentshrine Caverns, as well as Kael’thas Sunstrider at Tempest Keep.
Many guilds that are casually involved in raids have only 8/10 progress on the Tier.

- Kael’thas Sunstrider – The encounter has been set to its post-nerf configuration.
These changes will go live following weekly maintenance in each area during the week beginning November 9th.
This is not a new concept for World of Warcraft. Current raid tiers are often nerfed to aid struggling guilds later on tiers. However, this is the first significant change to the Classic version of World of Warcraft.
It will be interesting for Blizzard to examine how they handle changes like these in the Burning Crusade Classic, and possibly into Wrath of the Lich King. Also, it will be interesting to gauge community reactions to nerfing older content.
