Need for Speed Heat, an action racing game, is set in Palm City. This fictionalized version of Miami, Florida, and the surrounding areas. In-game maps feature diverse terrains, such as mountainous regions and fields.

Performance upgrades are no longer randomly generated Speedcards, but instead unlocked through winning races and reps.
