Fans agree that Ravenholm in Half-Life 2 is one of the scariest gaming levels
Half-Life 2is a classic game and is not considered a horror. It’s also home to a spooky in-game location.
Ravenholm is a place that you will instantly recognize if you have played Valve’s 2004, an FPS. In the sixth chapter, players enter the ghost town infested with zombies. The creepy atmosphere and lack of ammunition make for an incredibly tense scene. Reddit gamers still consider it one of the most terrifying parts of a video game.
Reddit user Zakrath confessed that “when I was young, I could not complete half-Life 2because of my fear of the map Ravenholm.” What games have you avoided because of fear?
It’s easy to understand that others may have experienced similar situations: “Haha, me too, buddy. “We don’t travel to Ravenholm” was a statement I took very seriously. Drewthezombiekiller responded. “I was stuck in second clearing for 2 days because I ran out of ammunition and didn’t know where to go.” “I am 26 and I’m playing HLand HL2 for the first time in my life. “I got as far as Ravenholm last night, but quit because it was late and I had to go home by myself,” tarheel343 said. “I feel you. The first time I played Ravenholm, I was able to make it through until the very first fast zombie. I had to stop playing the game after hearing that scream. It’s not surprising that a child would feel scared about exploring Ravenholm. It makes no sense that I was scared of The Great Escape’s villain Admiral Razorbeard because he appeared so spikey. To this day I am not a huge fan of horror games, so those tracks aren’t for me.
