Xbox Series X consoles selling out due to Call of Duty Classic

Due to the recent fantastic press, it’s possible that I will soon run out of things positive to say about Call of Duty.

Even with the modern technological advancements in gaming, there are still some Call of Duty fans who will never stop playing classic games. The online chat can be toxic, but there’s nothing like the old Modern Warfare or Black Ops. The intense competitive multiplayer was a unique experience. Hours would fly by in a flash.

As the years went by, it was inevitable that the old Call of Duty titles would lose popularity as we entered the new era of Warzone for better or worse. Recently, Xbox updated the classic Call of Duty game to improve matchmaking, allowing players to be placed into matches in mere seconds.

The classic Call of Duty games may still be (and are therefore vulnerable to hackers and cheaters), but as long you can avoid these, it’s a great time to revisit the best years of the series. Due to the increase in the number of online players, Call of Duty Black Ops II and Modern Warfare 2 are currently among the top-selling Xbox games.

The Xbox Series-X console is also benefiting, it appears, from the success of the classic Call of Duty game on Xbox. According to Twitter’s Xbox News account, retailers are reportedly running out of Xbox Series X Consoles, and Amazon has reportedly increased by 84% during this recent Call of Duty multiplayer boom.

We’ll have to wait for 100% confirmation before we can confirm this. It’s not surprising, given the recent success of classic Call of Duty titles. It’s crossed my mind that I should tell my brother finally purchase a new Xbox to play some Black Ops or Modern Warfare 2.

It’s almost confirmed in recent Call of Duty News that DLC and progress will continue from Modern Warfare II (2022). It would be the first time that progress carried over to a sequel.

Activision is yet to officially announce Call of Duty Modern Warfare III 2023, but we hope that all the details will be released in the next few weeks.
