The Last Of Us opening is hailed as the ‘best ever in any videogame’
The opening of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us has been praised as the “best ever in a video game” – and I agree.
It has been quieter than The Last of Us enthusiasts might have expected. Naughty Dog was originally set to showcase their The Last of Us multi-player project during the PlayStation Showcase, which took place in May. The reveal of the new game was canceled after Bungie expressed concerns about the longevity of the title. Naughty Dog confirmed that they are working on it. This is a single-player experience, which we do not know the name of. Due to ongoing strikes by writers and actors, we also do not have news on season 2 casting. The Last of Us Part II may receive a port for PS5 soon, but this is not confirmed. The Last of Us Part 1 is the opening that fans have been talking about.
A Redditor took to their site and wrote “The Last of Us is the best video game opening ever. […] The answer boils down to two things. It was the first time I have played a video game that made me feel like the world was ending, and the society falling apart. The little details, like the explosion outside the window or on television, make it feel so close. And because you are playing as Joel’s child, you will be completely vulnerable and helpless.”
Then, they continued: “Then, of course’, the s**t will hit you at full speed.” […] I was in tears by the time the episode ended. “There’s nothing like it, in my opinion.” I am sure you won’t be shocked to learn that many other fans agree.
