Red Dead Redemption 2 Free Update adds missions, events, and more
Anyone who has played Red Dead Redemption II will tell you that Rockstar Games abandoned it far too early.
It’s really a tragic. Red Dead Redemption II has the greatest open world in video games. The world is vast yet dense with a lot to do. It’s also stunningly detailed. It’s amazing how the steam that rises after heavy rain, or the horse tests which sway in the wind are all done to perfection.
GTAO is also not given the attention it deserves.
Red Dead Online has received a free update that introduces some new features. This is perfect for those who want to satisfy their Western cravings before the announcement of the Red Dead Redemption remasters.
Rockstar will be offering Double Rewards for certain missions and events within Red Dead Online throughout August. Accept Free Roam Event invitations and put your skills against others in competitive challenges for the next 5 weeks. Complete a Free Roam Event each week to earn rewards.
This reward is:
- Rewards for Character XP from August 1-7
- Rewards for Treasure Maps that lead to hauls near O’Creagh’s Run
- Ammo for 20X shotgun explosive slugs is available from August 15 to 21.
- Three powerful health cures for August 22-28
- Stable Slots 50% Off August 29-September 4
Rockstar teases that “New cases will require steady aim, and there’ll be an outlaw with steady aim in the near future,” suggesting something is coming.
Strangers will also give you double the rewards for open-world encounters. This interaction with “new characters and familiar faces” may lead to some new, exciting adventures.
A Land of Opportunities is a more meaty experience. You can assist Jessica LeClerk, a widowed woman, and Horley, her trusted right-hand man in bringing frontier justice. These story missions will give you double gold and experience for up to four players. You can also expect different results depending on your honor level.
