Call of Duty is one of the biggest and most lucrative franchises in the industry. It’s a popular property, but not everyone loves it.

The latest entry is Call of Duty Modern Warfare II, which was released in 2022. Modern Warfare II was generally well-received by critics, with Metacritic scores in the high to mid-70s. Fans’ response to the game has declined in the months following its release.

Why do fans seem to be dissatisfied with Modern Warfare II? There are several reasons for this, but it seems to mostly be due to Warzone II.

Activision has been trying to crack down on hackers who use hacks, exploits, and mods. However, this issue is still preventing many players from returning to the Al Mazrah Map. Fans are also becoming more frustrated by the questionable Operator DLC packages, as well as accusations of outrageous pricing and allegations of pay-to-win advantages.

Players have been complaining about the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II page of Steam on Windows, or what it looks like now. Instead of directing you to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II page on Steam, now takes you, to a brand new Call of Duty Hub. What’s going on?

Activision changed MWII Steam to try to conceal poor reviews. Activision has been trying to conceal the poor reviews on its Steam page, which has dropped to “Overwhelmingly negative” reviews. However, the community has reported that the company has changed the page to, with now displaying “Mixed”, and is expected to drop further over the next few days.

There are comments on the Modern Warfare II page of Steam, such as “Rebranded the original MWII to Call of Duty[CODHQ] in order to conceal the negative reviews which plague the page. “It’s hard to believe that the company is so out of grace,” commented user Cro. Archion exclaimed, “Imagine creating a brand new page for the game because of the poor launch. The review statistics can’t even be better than mixed.”

Activision’s response to the MWIISteam negative reviews is yet to be determined, but it can not continue to create new web pages. Warzone II is now available for PC, PlayStation, or Xbox.
