Grand Theft Auto is always exciting, but especially so when there’s a big acquisition to give GTA6 an important creative boost.

This is sure to cause a frenzy amongst fans, so we will try to explain it as soon as possible to give you enough time to enjoy the moment.

Rockstar Games has acquired Cfx. re. This creative team is behind GTA 5, mod, and the roleplaying community FiveM and RedM. This means that the creative minds who have elevated the GTA in recent years will be actively involved in game development.

According to Rockstar, according to the press release of the company “the company watched with excitement how Rockstar’s community of creatives found new ways of expanding the possibilities in Grand Theft Auto V & Red Dead Redemption 2 – particularly by creating dedicated roleplay servers.”

The statement continued, “By partnering up with Cfx. re we’ll help them discover new ways to serve this amazing community and to improve their services to developers and gamers.”

Mods for games are a common part of the gaming experience. Not all developers or publishers welcome them even though they add to and/or enhance the content that is already available. Mods can be a form of appreciating a game, or a means to continue the flames long after its release. That’s exactly what happened with GTA.

It’s shocking news, especially since Rockstars’ parent company Take-Two has taken action against modders, serving DMCA notifications. One surprised fan, who spoke in all caps to show their excitement, exclaimed “IT’S a new era”.

Some people speculate that Cfx. re will be involved in GTA 6.

is a GTA 6 that has been under development for over ten years. The developers are taking this job seriously, and want to reward the fans for their loyalty.

Rockstar’s announcement was brief, to the point, and left us with no other choice but to speculate. They did say at the end of their announcement “We are looking forward to sharing even more information in the coming weeks and months”, which means that plans have already begun.
