Call Of Duty fans are criticizing Activision for charging full price for Call Of Duty Modern Warfare III.

Since its reveal trailer last week, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III has been decisive, to say the least. While many are excited about the single-player campaign, especially after that Makarov and Verdansk tease, others are skeptical about the multiplayer.

Reportedly, maps featured in the online multiplayer were initially intended as DLC for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II, which was dropped and turned into the third game instead. The renowned Call Of Duty: Zombies mode is also speculated to become free-to-play, prompting concern over microtransactions.

Now though, there’s a new piece of information that’s triggering Call Of Duty fans, the price of the new release.

The latest evidence suggests Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be more like a DLC expansion rather than a standalone release. This has prompted outrage from the community, especially since Activision has confirmed it’ll be charging a premium price for the title.

The news was shared on Reddit by a user called F0REM4N, who said: “Activision denies Modern Warfare 3 pricing rumors, confirms ‘premium release’ status.”

The response from fans was what you’d expected, many of which are planning to skip the upcoming release and wait for the game to come out on Xbox Game Pass, once the deal between Xbox and Activision Blizzard has been finalized.

“Not hyped. Sbm and pay-to-win algorithm has put me right off.”

“Be great to check out when it hits Game Pass.”

“I’m skipping will not buy”

“It feels good that this is likely the last COD il ever pay for. It’s been a wild ride.”

“I’ll buy a used copy if they bring back Survival from the original mw3. Otherwise, I’ll probably wait for a significant price drop.”

Fans will just have to wait and see what the state of the game is at launch, although PlayStation players will apparently get to try the game before anyone else, with exclusive access to its beta provided they’ve preordered the game.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III will launch on the 10th of November later this year for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
