Tekken 3 is the third installment in the Tekken fighting series. Tekken 3 retains its core concept and fighting system from previous games. Tekken 3 has added emphasis to the third axis. Characters can now sidestep into or out of the backgrounds. The fighters are now able to jump higher than in previous games.
This makes them feel less intimidating and encourages the use of sidestep dodges since jumping can no longer be used to dodge all ground attacks. The new improvements include faster recoveries after knockdowns and more escapes when escaping from stuns or tackles. There are also more moves that allow juggling and newly-created combo throws.
